What Is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the branch of herbal medicine that uses essential oils derived from plant parts, such as flowers, branches, twigs, barks, roots, fruits, leaves, and even stalks.

There are many different ways to get these oils out of plants to be used in aromatherapy. The most common process is called distillation.

After the oils are distilled from the plant, they are highly concentrated and have powerful therapeutic properties.

Some say that essential oils can be used for healing, but I prefer to use them for their scents.

Just smelling these oils can improve our health and overall well-being.

While essential oils are sometimes used in cosmetics, massage oils, and cleansers, they can damage the skin if not used properly.

But these essential oils can be used in aromatherapy candle making, too!

As the candles melt, the essential oils are diffused into the air.

Candles are super popular, and to be honest, they always have been. A lovely smelling candle can change how a room feels and help guests and families relax in a home.

Burning aromatherapy candles at home is trendy. For that reason, aromatherapy candle making can become a lucrative hobby that can become a full-fledged home business!

Don't get discouraged if your aromatherapy candle doesn't turn out perfect the first time. Candle making requires some practice!

Materials

  • Candle wax, preferably soy candle for a more natural and environment-friendly effect.
  • Candle dyes (optional) for a more interesting aromatherapy candle making result.
  • Candle wicking
  • Essential oils
  • Heavy pot for melting wax
  • A suitable mold for your candle. Either a long tube, hollow at the center, or a bowl. You can even use a cup. Make sure that your aromatherapy candle making molds are flexible so that it will be easier to release the hardened candle.

Instructions

  1. Place your required wax amount into the heavy pan and place it on the heat.
  2. Allow the pan to heat slowly until all the wax melts.
  3. Afterwards, add your dye. In aromatherapy candle making, it is important that you add the ingredients a small amount at a time.
  4. Then, dip the wick several times into the melted wax.
  5. Next, add a few drops of essential oils into the mixture, stirring gently.
  6. Finally, pour the mixture into the mold and wait for it to dry.

Working With Hekate During The Full Moon

During the full moon, we call upon Hekate to assist us in clearing our past, releasing our fears, and opening ourselves to new possibilities. We ask her to help us gain clarity in our lives, to help us transform our inner worlds, and to allow us to move forward with courage and confidence.

It is said that Hekate helps us to overcome obstacles and challenges that stand in our way, and to achieve our goals. In addition to being a benevolent Goddess, she is also a fierce warrior. When we summon her, we invite her to help us take charge of our lives, to lead us into battle, and to fight for justice.

I am an eclectic witch - I've been practicing since 1974. As a student of the occult, working with astrology, tarot cards, runes, and numerology, I found that this was a very comprehensive and well written text on working with Hekate during the full moon. Highly recommended. - Gail Sager

Great read - a must have for anyone interested in working with the Goddess during the full moon! Highly recommended! - Luis Meyer
