Valentine’s Day is an early spring holiday that is mostly secular now. It does have its roots in the pagan festival of Lupercalia, however. This can be a holiday where pagans, Wiccans, and witches renew their vows to their lovers, decide if they want to try for a baby, or even break things off in a relationship.

Choose your gifts for your valentine wisely! The energy you give to them with your gift will define your relationship going forward!

Before giving one of these gifts to your valentine, consider their personal preferences. Are they the kind of witch that likes to receive a DIY gift? Then maybe you should choose candles or crystals.

If your valentine is the kind of person that prefers ready-made gifts, then the chocolates and tea may be a better bet.

If you’re making your own love spell candle, try to resist the urge to make a plain candle. One infused with herbal and crystal correspondences will simply be more powerful than a plain one.

Pink candles are better for sweet love, new romance, or the love of a friend. This color is associated with Venus or Aphrodite, the goddess of love. 

Red candles should be used for romantic love, lust, and fertility magick.

Unfortunately, many witches still struggle with loving themselves. Maybe it’s a product of their upbringing or a result of the society we’re in.

Either way, with a few simple herbs, we can help to rebuild that relationship with ourselves. We are our strongest ally, especially in witchcraft. If we can’t trust ourselves, we can’t trust our magick.

That is why I strongly recommend sharing a self-love tea with everyone you know, whenever possible.

Herbal Chocolates

Chocolates infused with herbal benefits are an exciting way to say “I love you!” on Valentine’s Day. You can make your own, but the ones I have chosen to share from Etsy are infused with reishi and chaga, two powerful mushrooms.

Some other herbal additions could add a burst of flavor, like cinnamon or dried fruit. Still others can add delicious heat for added love magick, like cayenne pepper.

Chocolates infused with rose help to open the heart to love. Just make sure the rose petals are free from pesticides!
